Pre ban magazines
I live in COTNY (Communist Occupied Territory of New York) and high capacity magazines over 10 rounds are illegal here. I see many places I can purchase pre ban magazines for my AR-15 for example, but how do I prove that they are pre-ban if some cop wants to bust my chops? As far as I can tell there are no serial numbers, no date markings, nothing...

Re: Pre ban magazines
As far as I know, pre ban doesn't matter where state laws are concerned regarding mag capacity.
NJ used to allow a wooden block to be inserted to restrict capacity, not sure if that's still valid or even if it's valid for NY....been a while since I was living there. Best move, buy what you can, store at a relatives house out of state so after you make the money in NY, you can start living in a free state. Internet sales can be shipped to any address you give provided that state doesn't restrict hi cap mags. Make sure to stock up on ammo too - steel core especially while its legal and somewhat available |
Re: Pre ban magazines
Yea I'd really love to stock up on ammo but it's so expensive already!
Do you know if you need to have a FFL to sell ammunition? I would love to just buy like a pallet or two of ammunition and then sell off the excess for profit! What are the pluses/minuses of brass vs. steel cased? Obviously the steel cased are cheaper, but is there any inherent advantage to the operation or your firearm with brass cased cartridges? |
Re: Pre ban magazines
If by steel vs brass case you mean NATO vs Russian ammo and you're talking about an AR-15 in 5.56x45 then it should feed and fire in most of those rifles but be aware that the steel case ammo also has steel jacketed bullets and they won't fragment.
